King Springs Unrivaled Reputation.

Engineered and manufactured to the highest standards at their state of the art facility in Australia. King Springs are the longest running and most trusted springs on the market for Subaru’s. The springs advanced manufacturing produces a spring that will have a better load capacity with increased comfort and off road capability.

Low Impact on CV Joints and Axles.

Lifting your vehicle using King Springs without the addition of “strut top lift spacers” will result in much less trouble with CV axles. Putting a tall lift spacer (1.25” or taller) on top of your strut will allow your axles to go well beyond their intended range of movement. The front axles on Subaru’s sit at a pretty steep angle when at stock height. So the cheap aftermarket axles have low success rates therefore new OEM or Re-manufactured are the only good replacement options. It makes for expensive maintenance if your “strut top spacer lift kit” is constantly damaging expensive to replace axles.

Reduces sway and body roll.

Improves your vehicles handling capability, especially after you raise your cars center of gravity from lifting it.

Designed for street and off-road use.

This is paramount for towing or when equipped with roof top or bumper mounted accessories such as tents, bikes, kayaks, spare tires, gas can, etc. The springs help prevent bottoming out. King Springs are slightly stiffer than your stock springs but won’t create a harsh ride.

Why are King Springs sometimes slightly shorter then my OEM ones?

King Springs in both standard and raised height are often shorter than the springs they are replacing. They won’t be compressed as far under the initial “pre-load” it takes to get to their “installed height”.

I got these KYB Excel G struts for my 2003 WRX with the King Springs 1.5" lift. This combination is absolutely awesome! And for the price point I really don't think they can be beat or have anyone even come close. I've waited for about 3000 miles before posting a review because I like to actually live with something for a while, after the new purchase smell it's gone, so my review accurately reflects my true opinion. So for some back story, I live 2 miles and 2000 feet up an old logging road that is mostly gravel with some hard packed dirt and ruts thrown in to make it interesting. Subaru's are amazing on this type of terrain, however they're not much for articulation. Get a deep rut and especially one after another on opposite sides and you're usually lifting a wheel and breaking traction and causing the ride up to be especially difficult or the ride down the mountain difficult in the sense that it's hard to brake and maintain traction when there's wheels off the ground entirely. This strut and spring combination have really surprised me and far surpassed my expectations. They allow far more articulation than I've ever known in a Subaru, helping keep all the wheels on the ground and give a nice firm but planted feeling over the bumpy stuff. Ramp the speeds up on an old forest road and these things really shine! Or stuff it hard into some tight tarmac corners and I'm completely blown away at how flat I'm cornering despite the lift, always handling the bumps at speed with ease! My old Soobie just turned 278,000 miles. I've ran stock struts, AGX adjustable struts, and Fortune Auto coilovers (both 1.5" below stock ride height and 1.25" over stock) and these Excel G's with the King springs surpass them all! Also if your foot is heavy over short crests at speed and you like to get some air under your tires these handle the landing phenomenally, absorbing the impact and settling quickly, allowing you to maintain control with ease. I'm so happy with this purchase! These are valved perfectly and really feels like a much more expensive setup that any professional shop valved specifically for my aggressive style of driving on all the various terrain that I like to run at speed. Also, I'm getting old and don't so much enjoy being cramped up and wrenching for the better part of a day anymore, so I really appreciate the completely assembled, drop in place option! Thank you SO much Primitive!!!
