Most Subaru’s come fairly capable from the factory. They are not fully protected from rocks, stumps, mud and things hidden in the snow that you may encounter on your back road adventures or every day travels. No one intends to put a hole in their oil pan, but it can happen. Subaru just puts a flimsy piece of black plastic between the ground and the oil pan, intended mostly as splash protection. The transmission and rear differential come with no protection whatsoever. Primitive underbody armor is the original and best protection you can buy. We have been making lightweight, bolt on and easy to install Aluminum skid plates since before the turn of the century. They are built to be rugged, functional and last for the life of the car. We consider things like approach angles, reversing over obstacles, jack-up points, oil changes, ease of maintenance, and maximum ground clearance when we design a product we will continue to advance, innovate and refine the segment with our new and existing designs.
