EJ257 Factory Turbo Short Block (STi)
EJ257 Factory Short Block. No one can put together a bottom end like the factory for reliability. Consider a short block to start your build project. New case halves and matched crank and bearings are critical, even if you pull it apart to install some forged pistons like Wiseco or JE. Subaru factory rods work up to around 500 hp. Machining your old case can bring the cost of a rebuild up close to the cost of a new short block, and reliability suffers.
